Red Sox Lose Recently Acquired First Baseman To White Sox

Chicago White Sox

After Triston Casas suffered a season-ending injury back in May, the Boston Red Sox were desperately scrambling to find help at first base. The Red Sox picked up Noda for cash considerations and ended up stashing him in Triple-A Worcester. In 13 games with the WooSox, Noda hit .378 with three home runs and 13 runs batted in. Despite that, the team opted to designate Noda for assignment Monday, as the duo of Romy Gonzalez and Abraham Toro have been holding their own at first base for the time being.
