The Vikings news can overwhelm the best efforts at Vikings Territory. In response, there’s a desire to corral some of what got missed over these past few days in a single quick-hitter piece.
What has been covered has been the J.J. McCarthy trade, the trade grades for that move, and who could get added to shore up the passer position. Moreover, there has been some focus on the roster adds alongside the practice squad adds. A piece covered a player getting stolen away. Consider some of what got missed.

News Item No. 1 — Myles Price Wins an Award

Myles Price is a very impressive player. So impressive, in fact, that he’s generating some league-wide praise.
The returner scored a long touchdown last Sunday, chewing up 86 yards on his way toward tossing 6 points onto the board. The NFL has awarded him with the Special Teams Player of the Week Award.
Craig Peters covers the news on the team’s website: “Price ripped off an 86-yard punt return for a touchdown in the first quarter, giving Minnesota a 10-point lead in an eventual 23-16 victory. It was the first punt return TD by Price and by anyone in the 2026 season, plus Minnesota’s first in a 162-game span that dated back to Oct. 9, 2016, when Marcus Sherels returned a punt 79 yards for a score in the third game ever at U.S. Bank Stadium.”
Another bit of insight from Peters: “Through three games, Price leads the league in punt return yards (130), punt return touchdowns (one), yards per punt return (21.7), kickoff return yards (353) and all-purpose yards (483). Since entering the league in 2025, Price ranks second in kickoff return yards (1,832) and third in punt return yards (440).”
News Item No. 2 — Micah Parsons Has Thoughts on J.J. McCarthy Trade

Packers edge rusher Micah Parsons thinks the Vikings made a mistake by moving on from J.J. McCarthy (join the club, Parsons).
Bleacher Report was among the spots online to send along the news, writing, “Micah Parsons says the Vikings gave up on J.J. McCarthy too early by trading him to the Giants.” Another spot that goes by the name “Big Blue Film Room” sent along more details.
My perspective: Parsons is exactly right. Opting to move off the talented but raw QB3 for a 5th makes very little sense.
News Item No. 3 — Mike Florio Stirs the Pot

Mike Florio tends to be forthright with his opinion. Consider a recent example:
Outwardly, the Vikings are going to say a pile of positive things about cheering for McCarthy. If, however, the kid does shine in New York or elsewhere, Minnesota is going to be a ton of (deserved) criticism. Don’t forget that he’s only 23.
So many think that the danger in repeating the Sam Darnold gaffe is to allow Kyler Murray go after 2026. What if the repeat rests in letting McCarthy to get away?
