On Sunday, the Vikings called a pair of trick plays. Neither worked. Nevertheless, there’s some reason to consider rolling with the aggressive strategy again. The Vikings’ next trick play can build off a promising moment or two from the pair of second-half play calls that sought to weaponize Justin Jefferson’s gravitational pull to find room […]

After a flying start to the season the Minnesota Vikings hit the bye week with an unbeaten 5-0 record. The bye gives us an opportune moment to sit back and look at how the 2026 Vikings rookies have fared in the early stages of the season. Bye Week Vikings Rookies Review It was a peculiar draft for […]

Ian Rapoport of The NFL Network did some speculating. Give the mic over to ESPN Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano. In their recent piece, Graziano and Fowler consider the options for WR-needy teams in the NFL trade market. A Vikings receiver — the bruising Jauan Jennings — sees his name listed among the potential options. […]

Apparently, J.J. McCarthy is going to play a role in New York. The Giants’ depth option is operating behind starter Jameis Winston. What’s of note, though, is that the Giants found a way to layer Mr. McCarthy into the most recent game, leaning on his athleticism to introduce a new dynamic to New York’s offense. […]

A former Vikings defender has seen his 2026 season stolen away due to tearing his Achilles, a brutal injury that could threaten his readiness for 2027. ESPN Adam Schefter sent the word about defensive tackle Javon Hargrave. Schefter’s matter-of-fact report about the bad news: “Tests today confirmed that Green Bay Packers DT Javon Hargrave suffered […]

At some point, it might be time to accept that it’s just not my year. I started the year 9-7 against the spread and have sat under .500 every week since. Granted, a 7-8 record last weekend is the best I’ve done since Week 1, but the point stands: this simply hasn’t been good enough. […]

Maybe Jauan Jennings is here for a good time, not a long time. Ian Rapoport of The NFL Network participated in some dot connecting while chatting with Pat McAfee. The trade speculation swerved into a consideration of Mr. Jennings, the Vikings’ bruiser of a WR3 who has yet to do much on the stat sheet. […]

GM Nolan Teasley is still at it. The Vikings bringing in some players for a workout has become the norm in the Twin Cities. Indeed, the new leader for the front office appears keen to continue the roster grind, evaluating the league’s fringe talent in search of a diamond in the rough. ESPN’s Kevin Seifert […]

In my team exec years, I always loved winning our game before the bye week. It gave us a rare two weeks to enjoy a victory. As great as the Vikings feel about winning in New Orleans on Sunday with the offense joining the defense and special teams as equal contributors, the team feels even […]

Going into the Week 5 meeting with the New Orleans Saints, Minnesota Vikings cornerback Byron Murphy was one of three players I pinpointed as needing to show up in this game. Murphy delivered. Byron Murphy Delivered Against the Saints The other two players I highlighted were Jauan Jennings — who once again scored a blank with no […]

Running back Audric Estime wasn’t in town for very long. The new Vikings skill guy is no longer a Vikings skill guy. Check out what Jordan Schultz had to say: “Sources: The #Browns are signing RB Audric Estime off the #Vikings practice squad to their 53-man roster. The 23-year-old Estime brings 508 career rushing yards, […]

The roster reinforcements are on the way. There are 4 Vikings players whom Minnesota is expecting to get back after the bye. In an odd twist of fate, all of these players are on Kevin O’Connell’s offense, partially explaining the modest beginning to the season on that side of the ball. Check out who appears […]

Vikings Territory Breakdown As legendary singer Tina Turner once said, “We never do anything nice and easy!” And that should be the motto of the 2026 Minnesota Vikings. They travelled to the Big Easy and beat the Saints 23-13, and while it was very nice to improve their record to 5-0, it was not very […]

The Vikings offense isn’t very good. But then there’s the reality that the team sits at a pristine 5-0 record. Can both be true? Mike Sando put together a piece for The Athletic, an article that begins with a consideration of the NFL’s last remaining perfect teams. There are the Kansas City Chiefs and San […]

Odell Beckham Jr. is here to contribute on Sunday. Or, at the very least, that’s the hint about the Vikings’ plan with the veteran. Going into the Week 5 Saints game, Minnesota elevated the veteran off the practice squad. Doing so came despite having him in town for mere days and despite having several other […]

The Minnesota Vikings’ great start to the 2026 season has largely been built on a dominant defense, but as we head toward the Week 6 bye, the Vikings offense has grown enough to spark optimism for the rest of the season. Vikings Offense Shows Enough Growth to Breed Optimism A lot has been said about […]

A touch lost in the shuffle, perhaps, has been the move involving a pair of injured players who are now healthy. The Vikings officially activated a pair of players prior to the Week 5 Saints game. Check out the word from the team’s social media: “The #Vikings have elevated WRs Odell Beckham Jr. and Jeshaun […]

Tight end T.J. Hockenson had been tasked with doing more work due to the absence of Josh Oliver and Justin Jefferson in recent weeks. Unfortunately, the Vikings injury focus has shifted to him. Early in the game, Hockenson caught a pass that ended up leaving him crunched on the field. The game broadcast showed a […]
