Packers urged to make $21 million sacrifice, trade for Giants star defender

The Green Bay Packers are shaping up to be one of the NFL’s top contenders in 2025. The Packers lack a dominant edge presence, and they’re still not completely sold on former first-round pick Lucas Van Ness. “Van Ness felt destined for the Green Bay Packers even before he landed in Lambeau, coming out of Iowa with a background in hockey, but he’s been more of an intriguing Midwestern story than a difference-making pass rusher so far,” CBS Sports’ Cody Benjamin wrote. Benjamin ultimately labeled Van Ness a potential bust for 2025 — which makes last year’s sack leader, Rashan Gary, the only reliable option when it comes to applying pressure.
