As is usually the case, there’s a lot to watch for at training camp, but that’s probably never been more true than it is this year, given the mulligan general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll received from ownership after last year’s disastrous 3-14 campaign. Left tackle Andrew Thomas (foot) and receiver Malik Nabers (toe) are two of the biggest names who did not practice at all all offseason. Thomas specifically didn’t help matters when he said he was “hopeful” he’d be ready to go, adding that he didn’t have a projection. Giants fans and the team are hopeful he is, though the expectation is that his practice snaps will probably be managed at first given the long layoff he’s had since suffering the season-ending foot injury in Week 6 of last year.
