Toronto Blue Jays right-handed pitcher Max Scherzer is a three-time Cy Young Award winner, but he didn’t look like one against the New York Yankees on Tuesday. Scherzer gave up a three-run homer to Yankees infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. in the first inning before allowing a solo shot by outfielder Cody Bellinger in the fifth. First baseman Ben Rice hit a solo homer of his own off of Toronto closer Jeff Hoffman in the ninth, giving New York a 5-4 lead that it didn’t relinquish.
