The San Francisco Giants, as expected, officially placed Landen Roupp on the 15-day injured list with left knee inflammation on Friday although there remained no word as to how much time the right-handed starting pitcher might be forced to miss. Roupp was scheduled to have an MRI done on his ailing knee on Thursday in San Francisco. In the third inning of what turned into an 8-1 loss to the San Diego Padres on Wednesday, Roupp was struck by a line drive off the bat of Ramón Laureano and had to be carted off the field with a large brace on his left knee.
