Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic impressively breaks own record, but not in the NBA

Denver Nuggets

It isn’t a stretch to suggest Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic is the best player in the NBA. Although chaotic is the perfect term to describe the Nuggets’ 2024-25 campaign (mixed reviews on Russell Westbrook’s play and Mike Malone’s late–season firing), Jokic managed to guide the franchise to the postseason as the No. 4 seed in the Western Conference. The 30-year-old center averaged 29.6 points, 12.7 rebounds, and 10.2 assists per game with the 50-32 Nuggets, shooting 57.6% from the field and 41.7% from downtown. Impressively, Jokic broke his own unique record this past Saturday, but it didn’t take place in the NBA.
