Notre Dame wide receiver Malachi Fields had a touchdown comeback after he made an acrobatic catch but was also out of bounds. No matter, as Boise State had been flagged for defensive pass interference on the play.

Fighting Irish quarterback found Fields for a 6-yard touchdown pass on the following play. That ended a 10-play, 79-yard drive that took 4:31 off the clock.

Notre Dame took a 21-7 lead after the extra point and got some breathing room back against the Broncos.
