It was starting to look pretty bleak for the Seattle Mariners when they left Arizona on Wednesday after being swept by the Diamondbacks to cap a brutal 1-8 stretch against three sub-.500 teams. Well, things appear to be trending back in the other direction after a much-needed three-game sweep against the Cleveland Guardians, which wasn’t the only good news for to come out of weekend either. Manager Dan Wilson said the club plans to activate ace Logan Gilbert off the injured list to make Monday’s start against Boston, too. With the sweep, Seattle improved to 36-34 and remained 4 1/2 games behind the Houston Astros for first place in the AL West.
