There was a time in which the Chicago Cubs seemed like they were going to run away with the division but that isn’t the case any longer. Milwaukee has stormed back in the standings and now is just 2 1/2 games behind the Cubs for the top spot in the division. The Brewers are 44-36 whereas the Cubs are 46-33. The Athletic’s Jim Bowden wrote a column highlighting “difference-making” trade proposals and one involved the Brewers adding Colorado Rockies infielder Ryan McMahon.
