The San Francisco Giants are 4-8 over their last 12, including a sweep at the hands of the Miami Marlins, dropping two of three to the Chicago White Sox, splitting a four-gamer with the Arizona Diamondbacks, and splitting the first two against the Athletics in West Sacramento. The effort to turn things around got a little harder this weekend, as they had to place their high-leverage bullpen lefty on the IL. Former Stanford Cardinal Erik Miller, 27, was placed on the injured list on Saturday with a left elbow sprain, the team announced.
