Knuckleballer Matt Waldron got back in the zone with Triple-A El Paso and got back in the win column.

Waldron set season highs with seven innings and eight strikeouts while not allowing a run in the Chihuahuas’ 11-4 win over visiting Las Vegas on Tuesday.

Waldron (4-2, 3.99 ERA) threw 66 of his 93 pitches for strikeouts. He walked one and scattered four this in his first appearance since his June 30 start for the Padres in Philadelphia (4 ⅔ IP, 4 ER).

Right-hander Francis Pena (4.05 ERA) walked two in a scoreless eight and right-hander Sean Reynolds (6.48 ERA) allowed four runs in the ninth.

Shortstop Mason McCoy (.887 OPS) hit a grand slam for his eighth homer.

Left fielder Forrest Wall (.812 OPS) drove in three runs on two doubles and second baseman Clay Dungan (.851 OPS) collected two doubles among his three hits.

Center fielder Brandon Lockridge (1.177 OPS) went 1-for-4 with a triple, a walk and two runs scored.

El Paso is 47-41.
