Red Sox ace Garrett Crochet was selected to his second straight All-Star Game earlier this week, though he has decided not to pitch in the game. Crochet is interested in pitching for Team USA in the World Baseball Classic in March, he said Friday, though he has not had any talks with the team’s manager, Mark DeRosa. “I haven’t heard anything,” Crochet said. Team USA has gotten three commitments from superstars as Yankees slugger Aaron Judge, Pirates ace Paul Skenes and Royals standout Bobby Witt Jr. have already said they will play.
