Lions want to use ‘special’ running back tandem of Jahmyr Gibbs, David Montgomery together

New offensive coordinator John Morton doesn’t want to change much about what the Detroit Lions have been running, but slight alterations are to be expected. No two play-callers are the same, and Morton inevitably will have differences to Ben Johnson. One tweak could include an increase in having two running backs on the field simultaneously, with one in the backfield and another lined up as a receiver. The idea isn’t exactly novel, having been kicked around since Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery teamed up two seasons ago.
