Astros 3B Isaac Paredes (hamstring) chooses rehab over surgery

Houston Astros

There will be no surgery for Isaac Paredes after he suffered a “significant” hamstring strain last month. Astros general manager Dana Brown told reporters that Paredes, 26, received a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection and will need to undergo a “long period of letting it rest” before he can begin exercising again. “In his whole opinion on this, he wants to work hard to try and get back this season,” Brown said before Houston’s game against the Miami Marlins on Monday. A two-time All-Star, including this season, Paredes has missed the past 14 games after suffering the injury on July 19 in Seattle.
