Ex-Mets, Yankees pitcher will be on the trade block soon

New York Yankees

Athletics starter Luis Severino likely will not be in Sacramento for too much longer. The A’s held on to the right-hander at this year’s trade deadline, but according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the team is “expected” to deal him away this winter. After signing with the A’s on a three-year, $67 million contract — the largest in team history — Severino is pitching to a 4.83 ERA with a 1.35 WHIP and 98 strikeouts over 130 1/3 innings this season. Severino had a resurgent season with the Mets in 2024, his first fully healthy season since 2018.
