Red Sox rookie infielder Marcelo Mayer (sprained right wrist) has not yet begun baseball activities. Boston placed the 22-year-old on the 15-day injured list July 25. The plan was to see how he felt after three days and then begin baseball activities if the injection worked. Surgery is an option but Mayer continues to try to push through it.
