The Seattle Seahawks announced they had signed former Auburn linebacker Wesley Steiner on Thursday. But the NFL team did not sign Steiner to play linebacker. Steiner will work at fullback, the Seahawks said. Steiner is the second former Auburn defensive player signed by Seattle since training camp started for the Seahawks’ offensive backfield. After transferring from Vanderbilt, Donovan Kaufman played as a defensive back for three seasons at Auburn before finishing his college career as a North Carolina State safety in 2024. On July 28, Seattle signed Kaufman and gave him a try at running back. The Seahawks waived Kaufman on Aug. 5. Steiner played linebacker at Auburn from 2020 through 2023,
