The Toronto Raptors are desperate to climb back into playoff standings in 2025-26, but can they do that with the roster they have now?
They may need to ship away some of their biggest names if they hope to really compete again.
According to Jake Fischer, via Fullcourtpass, RJ Barrett’s representation team is “fully aware” that he will be discussed in trades moving forward.
Barrett could be headed for the exit, but what could the Raptors get for him?

Barrett just finished his first full season in Toronto, averaging 21.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game on 46.8 percent from the field and 35.0 percent from beyond the three-point line.
He has started in every game since coming to the Raptors, and many fans viewed him as an important part of their future.
With his stats, he could fetch the team quite a haul in the trade market.
The Raptors are surely aware of that, and they will only move him if they can get something or someone good in return.
Are they angling for an even bigger name in place of Barrett, thinking that they can package him with some draft picks?
It’s hard to tell what their plans are.
The team has been putting together a fiesty squad.
They may not be prepared to make it all the way to the top of the East, but they could do better than last season, when they ended as the 11th team in their conference.
Some people saw Barrett as a building block for Toronto’s future.
And he may be, but his greatest value might come in a trade and not on the court.
