Signed as an undrafted free agent by the Seattle Seahawks in 1980 out of Milton College, Krieg overcame long odds to become a reliable starter, stepping in during his second season and earning the nickname “Mudbone” for his gritty play. Over 12 seasons with the Seahawks, he set franchise records for passing yards, touchdowns and completions, leading the team to its first playoff appearance in 1983 with 2,139 passing yards and 18 touchdowns.
