After working out for the team on Wednesday, veteran QB C.J. Beathard has signed onto Detroit’s practice squad. Beathard fits the mold of what Lions head coach Dan Campbell said the team wanted in a third QB earlier this week. The 31-year-old Beathard has been in the NFL since 2017, when he was a third-round pick out of Iowa by the San Francisco 49ers. He’s played in 25 career games, starting eight of those.
