Yankees key veteran still on hold with nagging injury

New York Yankees

Paul Goldschmidt was only available in an emergency on Saturday for the Yankees because he’s still managing a right knee injury. Yankees manager Aaron Boone revealed on Sunday morning that Goldschmidt recently had more tests done on his knee, an injury that traces back to a fall he had at first base while making a catch in foul territory midway through August. At that point, Goldschmidt was diagnosed with a low-grade right knee sprain. Attention shifted back to Goldschmidt when the New York Post reported on Saturday night that the veteran was an emergency sub in the Yankees’ win over Toronto.
