Browns make decision on cutting kicker Andre Szmyt

Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns probably should’ve beaten the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. But thanks in part to a missed field goal and a missed extra point by new kicker Andre Szmyt, Cleveland lost, 17-16. After the game, head coach Kevin Stefanski was asked about the prospect of seeking a new kicker. But the Browns aren’t giving up on Szmyt yet, a bold decision but one they’re still hoping can pay dividends. “I’m not there,” Stefanski told reporters about cutting Szmyt. “You know, like most type of things. You know, points are at premium obviously. So that’s frustrating. Andre’s had a really good camp. He’s done a nice job for us. So I’m not there.” MORE: ‘Have a little faith’: How Bills pulled off
