Just how real is Mlwaukee Brewers fever? Even a train going from Brew City to the Windy City will be repping the Crew.
Game 3 of the Brewers v. Cubs National League Division Series begins at 4:08 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, at Wrigley Field. That morning, Amtrak Hiawatha Train 332 — going from the Milwaukee Intermodal Station to Chicago Union Station — will get decked out as the “Brewers Express,” the Brewers shared in a news release.
Each car will be decorated in blue and yellow to cheer on the Crew.
The Brewers will provide giveaways and brats for the first 300 passengers who arrive as they wait for the train, as well as a DJ. As riders board the train — scheduled to depart from the Milwaukee Intermodal Station at 8:05 a.m. — they will be surrounded by the Famous Racing Sausages and the Brewers’ 4-1-Force.
Fans catching the “Brewers Express” at the Milwaukee Airport Railroad Station, the train’s second stop, will also get in on Brewers giveaways as they wait to board. There, the train will also pick up Bernie Brewer and Barrelman. The train is scheduled to leave that stop at 8:15 a.m., according to its online schedule.
The train will be making its normally planned stops along its way to Chicago, per the release.
Tickets for the “Brewers Express” — Amtrak Hiawatha Train 332 that departs from downtown Milwaukee at 8:05 a.m. Oct. 8 — can be booked at AmtrakHiawatha.com. They’re listed at $34-$35 (one way). Fans still need a game ticket to enter the Cubs’ ballpark, the release noted.
After the train-riding fans arrive at Union Station, these are some transportation options to get to Wrigley from there.
If you plan on taking a Hiawatha train home that night, it appears that the latest one returning to Milwaukee is scheduled to depart from Union Station at 8:05 p.m. Visit AmtrakHiawatha.com for more info, including ticket prices and return options for other dates.
