One week after being cut by the Cincinnati Bengals, quarterback Brett Rypien has landed on his feet.
Rypien became expendable for Cincinnati after the Bengalsacquired veteran Joe Flacco in a trade last week. Rypien has now landed on the practice squad of the Indianapolis Colts after Indy placed Anthony Richardson on injured reserve.
Rypien, 29, spent the first four years of his career with the Denver Broncos, going 2-1 as a fill-in starter. Another former Broncos backup quarterback, Jeff Driskel, also worked out for the Colts after being cut from the Las Vegas Raiders‘ practice squad. It appears that Rypien got the nod over Driskel (and three other QBs who worked out for Indy).
Elsewhere on the ex-Denver player front, tight end Caden Prieskorn was cut from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers‘ practice squad. Prieskorn went to training camp with the Broncos this summer.
