Fans of the Boston Celtics watching their favorite ball club take on the Toronto Raptors at TD Garden in preseason action got an unwelcome surprise as star Celtics forward Jaylen Brown take some tentative steps while grabbing at the back of his left leg late in the game’s second frame.
The Georgia native made a quick beeline to the locker room, and did not return before halftime began. Per the Celtics, he is now listed as doubtful to return to the contest with left hamstring tightness while the Celtics led 52-50 at the half. Brown is of course very unlikely to return to action for the last of the sole remaining preseason contest left on Boston’s schedule, with the Celtics Opening Night contest of the 2025-26 NBA regular season vs. the Philadelphia 76ers set to tip off in exactly one week on Wednesday, Oct. 22.
Brown had put up 7 points, 2 rebounds, and a steal when he exited the game.
