Ingomar’s Abby Miller and Booneville’s Jack Sandlin have been voted Daily Journal Athletes of the Week.

Miller, a setter for the volleyball team, recorded 55 assists over her last two matches, both of which were playoff wins for the Falcons. Miller received 74.7% of the vote in the Female Athlete of the Week Twitter poll. The other nominees were New Albany’s Adeline Bailey and Alcorn Central’s Mylee Davis.

Sandlin, a quarterback for the football team, completed 22 of 29 passes for 281 yards and four touchdowns in a 32-14 win against Belmont last Friday. Sandlin earned 70.3% of the vote in the Male Athlete of the Week poll, beating out Zane Hill of Regents and Sawyer Malone of Tupelo Christian.
