Gabriel, Jeudy cash in to tie game vs. Jets after INT

Houston Astros

The Cleveland Browns have finally capitalized on the New York Jets‘ offensive struggles, cashing in a turnover for points.

Through 20 minutes of the game, the Cleveland has outgained New York 121 to 13 on offense, held the ball for over 15-and-a-half minutes to the Jets’ 4:30, and held Jets quarterback Justin Fields to just a single passing yard. Now, thanks to an interception off of fields from safety Ronnie Hickman setting the Browns up deep in enemy territory, they’ve tied the game.

On the ensuing offense snap following the interception, Dillon Gabriel connected with Jerry Jeudy from 22 yards out for his second passing touchdown of the day. The extra point from Andre Szmyt was good and tied the score at 14 apiece.

The Browns’ defense has been dominant, once again. All 14 of the Jets’ first-half points have come from returns on special teams. If the Browns’ offense can continue to play just enough complimentary football, Cleveland may be able to snag its’ third win of the season and match last year’s win total by the end of the afternoon.
