A recent report from SPORT has revealed growing concern within the Real Madrid hierarchy over the team’s current dip in form.
Although the leadership group is not in panic mode, there is a clear sense of unease at Valdebebas, with hopes that the upcoming international break will help stabilise the situation and allow the squad to reset.
After Real Madrid’s thrilling 2-1 victory over Barcelona in El Clasico, many expected the momentum to carry forward. Instead, the team’s performances have gone in the opposite direction.
Los Blancos suffered a narrow 0-1 defeat to Liverpool in the Champions League, followed by a frustrating 0-0 draw against Rayo Vallecano in La Liga.
The sudden downturn has raised questions both inside and outside the club about what has gone wrong.
Alarming situation
Within the boardroom, the message remains measured. The club’s directors reportedly hope that the international break will provide time to reflect, ease the mounting tension, and correct the issues before they spiral.
They continue to back the project under Xabi Alonso, pointing out that Real Madrid remain top of La Liga and among the last eight in the Champions League.

Despite the worrying signs, the management believes the foundation is solid, but they also recognise certain patterns reminiscent of last season’s struggles.
What is the concern?
The biggest concern is the manner in which Real Madrid have played in their last two matches.
The performances were characterised by disjointed pressing, sterile possession, and predictable attacking patterns.
The team’s heavy reliance on Kylian Mbappe’s goals, Vinícius Jr.’s pace, and Thibaut Courtois’s saves has made them look one-dimensional.
Reports suggest that some within the club are quietly questioning whether Alonso has relaxed his tactical grip.
The team initially played with sharpness and cohesion, but now seems to have drifted away from that identity.
Despite that, though, the leadership is not panicking as the club’s position in all competition is fairly acceptable.
