What Kim Caldwell said about Oliviyah Edwards, Gabby Minus in Lady Vols basketball’s 2026 class

New York Yankees

Lady Vols basketball signed two players during the fall signing period for the 2026 class.

Five-star forward Oliviyah Edwards and four-star wing Gabby Minus signed with Tennessee, and the two-player 2026 class is ranked No. 7 in the nation by ESPN. Edwards is ranked No. 2 in the class by ESPN and No. 5 according to 247Sports Composite, while Minus is ranked No. 45 according to 247Sports Composite.

Edwards is the highest-ranked recruit to sign with Tennessee since Jordan Horston, who was also ranked No. 2 by ESPN, in 2019.

“Oliviyah will come in and make an impact on both ends of the court,” Caldwell said in a school release. “Her versatility and play-making ability will set her apart. She is a high character person, and we couldn’t be happier for her to join our program.”

Edwards was the first player to commit in the 2026 class. The 6-foot-3 prospect out of Tacoma, Washington, has been one of the most sought-after players in the country. Edwards chose Tennessee over South Carolina, USC, LSU, Florida and Washington. She had official visits set up with South Carolina and LSU, but committed on her visit with Tennessee before taking them.

Edwards is an incredible athlete, dunking for the first time in seventh grade. She got a shoutout from Parker this summer after dunking in an AAU game. Parker commented on the video of Edwards and said, “I personally see big Tennessee orange in her future” before reaching out to Edwards directly.

Parker and Edwards are also connected through Adidas, which signed Edwards as part of its NIL class in May. Parker is the president of Adidas women’s basketball. By the time Edwards’ freshman year begins, Tennessee will once again be an Adidas school.

Both Edwards and Minus are familiar with some of Tennessee’s current players. They played at Overtime Select last summer with Lady Vols freshmen Mia and Mya Pauldo and Deniya Prawl.

Minus is a 6-1 recruit out of Hebron Christian Academy in Dacula, Georgia. She chose Tennessee over Baylor, Florida, Clemson and Georgia. She’s the No. 3 player out of Georgia in the 2026 class and the No. 13 power forward, according to the 247Sports Composite.

“Gabby is a high-motor player who will come in ready to compete,” Caldwell said. “The moment she steps on campus, our competitiveness will rise. Her energy and infectious personality will be a great addition to our Lady Vol family.”
