Lampkins is a developmental prospect with upside. Considering the program’s track record with safeties under Fleck and safeties coach (and now defensive coordinator) Danny Collins, I’m inclined to trust their evaluation. Lampkins brings solid athleticism and length to the secondary, with a frame that should allow him to add size and strength at the next level. He is fluid in his movements, covers a lot of ground, and takes good angles to the ball. There aren’t a lot of highlight reel plays on his tape, but we’ll see if that changes in his senior season.
