Prescott says Cowboys ‘lit them up’ last visit to Lions, will ‘do it again’

Well it’s a bold strategy, Cotton. Let’s see if it pays off.

The Dallas Cowboys aren’t about to go out and play dodgeball though. They are lining up for a professional football game, with their season on the line. Whether one thinks it’s confidence or bravado, Cowboys QB Dak Prescott has certainly made a bold declaration.

Talking with NFL Network’s Jane Slater a few hours before his club kicks off their Week 14 contest, Prescott provided about as stunning bulletin board material as one could imagine. Prescott harkened back to his team’s last visit to Ford Field to take on the Detroit Lions, way back in 2019, and declared that he was going to repeat his standout performance from that contest.

Due to scheduling quirks from how the teams have finished in their respective divisions, the last several matchups between the two teams have been at AT&T Stadium. Just last year, Dan Campbell and the Lions invaded and embarrassed the Cowboys, 47-9. That left an awful taste in the mouths of many, and it appears Prescott is feeling uber confident in his team.

He’s skipping past that performance, the prior year’s showing when Dallas escaped 20-19, 2022’s 24-6 win, and looking at Week 10, when he completed 29 of 46 passes for 444 yards. Prescott threw for three touchdowns and didn’t turn the ball over in a 35-27 victory.

Prescott is literally the only person who will see the field that was involved in that game. Only the front office staff was involved in that one.
