SARASOTA, Fla. — For the first time since he retired from MLB, Adam Jones is going to be spotlighted in the “MLB The Show” video game series.
The longtime Orioles outfielder announced Tuesday night that he would be featured in “MLB The Show 26” releasing March 17 and shared a screengrab of the game with him rocking the orange and white.
Momma, ya boy made it!!

Orioles fans have clamored for Jones to be included for years, with his last appearance in the game being “MLB The Show 19” when he played his lone season with the Arizona Diamondbacks. The game’s popular Diamond Dynasty mode allows players to build teams with legends of past and present, but Jones had yet to get a card since his retirement.
New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge is the cover athlete for this year’s edition, which will include gameplay of the World Baseball Classic. Jones was a standout for Team USA in the 2017 WBC and, given that Diamond Dynasty cards are often tied to highlight moments and stretches of dominance, his card could feature his memorable home-run-robbing catch against the Dominican Republic.
Jones, who has a front-office role with Baltimore, was a guest coach at the Orioles’ camp this spring.
“I want to be a resource,” Jones said of his involvement in camp. “I was fortunate enough to play this game at a high level, a couple of accolades they gave me, but it’s teaching them and talking to them about — not just baseball. Guys are physically gifted. You go out there, you can do this.
“But there’s other parts of this, relationships off the field, how to handle your families, how to handle kids. There’s a lot of things, especially in Florida where you got your families, you got the beach, got a lot of things going on. So, just helping them with the full balance of a major league life, because it’s not just playing a game. It’s a full spectrum of things.”
