Jets Trade up in Round 4 to Select Clemson QB Cade Klubnik

New York Jets

Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik just became the answer to one of the biggest questions Jets fans were asking about how the Jets would approach the draft this season; “will they take a quarterback this year, and who might it be?”.  The answers are “yes” and “Klubnik” out of Clemson.

With the 10th pick in the fourth round, Klubnik becomes the latest developmental signal caller as he joins Brady Cook and Bailey Zappe behind starter Geno Smith.

After throwing 36 touchdowns in 2024, Klubnik saw that number dip to just sixteen last season as his production and draft stock tumbled.

To make sure they’d land Klubnik, the Jets sent a pair of fourth round picks to the Bengals in exchange for pick 110 and pick 140 in the sixth round.

Klubnik doesn’t have elite arm strength, but he does protect the football (12 interceptions in over 850 pass attempts in ’24/’25), has decent mobility and has shown the ability to get pass off under duress from multiple arm angles.
