Former Bulls head coach Billy Donovan has found a new NBA home.
The San Antonio Spurs have added Donovan to their coaching staff, per ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Donovan had spent the last 11 seasons as a head coach in Oklahoma City and Chicago, but will now take a step back, operating as the Spurs’ “lead assistant coach” under head coach Mitch Johnson.
The Spurs lost to the 2026 NBA Finals to the Knicks in five games.

It took more than 12 hours — not the usual order of NBA free agency — but the Bulls nabbed their veteran guard as Norman Powell agreed to a two-year, $45 million deal to help move the rebuild through the growing pains.
The free-agent market was a slow one Tuesday, as the Bulls remained more rumor than active participant. They did extend center Zach Collins to a two-year deal but stay tuned.
