Struggling reliever John Brebbia was designated for assignment by the Detroit Tigers after Saturday’s game. The Tigers recalled rookie right-hander Tyler Owens to take his spot. Brebbia had a 1.00 ERA with nine strikeouts in nine innings of work before suffering a right triceps strain at the end of April. Brebbia, 35, signed a one-year deal worth a guaranteed $2.75 million with the Tigers at the start of spring training. The contract included a $2.25 million salary in 2025 and a $4 million club option for 2026, with a $500,000 buyout.
