The Buffalo Bills knocked on the door of Super Bowl contention again last season.

Now, they enter this season with Josh Allen as the reigning MVP and a huge chip on their shoulders.

Notably, that should especially be the case with Keon Coleman.

The young wide receiver was projected to be a huge sleeper when the Bills took him in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft, but he had a rather modest rookie campaign.

That’s why NFL analyst Bucky Brooks is willing to give him another vote of confidence ahead of his sophomore campaign, choosing him as one of the strongest breakout candidates for this season:

“Josh Allen’s handpicked WR1 looks poised to make a major leap in his second season. Coleman’s superior size (6-foot-4, 215 pounds) and superb ball skills should help him take advantage of favorable matchups in the red zone. The sophomore should also see his numbers explode with Allen throwing the ball his way to exploit the coverage tilted in Khalil Shakir’s direction following Shakir’s own breakout campaign in 2024. As opponents attempt to neutralize the reigning MVP and the NFL’s most potent offense with various coverages designed to eliminate the deep ball, Coleman could shine as the cheat code on the perimeter,” Brooks wrote.

Coleman is a physical specimen who can be a perennial mismatch in the end zone.

He’s also great at creating separation and a constant big-play threat down the field.

Hopefully, the Bills will look to exploit his traits more often in his second year in the league.

They have one of the best quarterbacks in the game, and Allen did an outstanding job of spreading the wealth and getting everybody involved in the passing game last season.

He shut down all doubts about whether he would be able to post the same numbers without Stefon Diggs or a clear-cut WR1.

Even so, having a reliable pass-catcher and someone to trust down the stretch and in big moments will help him be even more dominant, and that’s where Coleman needs to step up.
