Looking back at it, the San Diego Padres’ decision to trade for Juan Soto might not have been the best idea. Even if it’s just because of what James Wood has done for the Washington Nationals over the past few months, it’s easy to suggest that Wood being with the organization for many years would’ve been better than having Soto for the few that the Padres did. However, the Padres were in a situation where they had an opportunity to win a World Series, and the season and a half that Soto was on the roster was just to go all in.
