It was certainly not Beau Pribula‘s best game of the season, but in an SEC opener that could prove crucial to Missouri’s playoff hopes, it was enough. The former Penn State backup once again was efficient as the Missouri Tigers improved to 4-0 with a 29-20 victory over the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Pribula in this matchup was only 16/27 for 171 yards and a touchdown with an interception during the game, but he was bolstered by an exceptional run game, which had 285 combined yards to pull out the win. Ahmad Hardy continued his impressive season in the backfield with 22 carries for 138 yards.
While Pribula’s only highlight was an 8-yard touchdown completion to Joshua Manning, this continues his hot start to the season as the Tigers begin to get into the swing of SEC play
He is currently fourth in the SEC in passing yards with 962 yards to his name already. He is also completing his passes at an almost 73 percent clip despite only completing 59.3 percent on this occasion. Still, combining his accuracy with the hyper-efficiency of the running game could make the Tigers a continuous tough out in the SEC and a potential CFP contender.
The Tigers go again next Saturday as they take on UMass at home at 7:30 ET on ESPNU.
