Historically, USC has done well landing elite quarterback talent, and that’s only gone up a level since Lane Kiffin took over a few seasons ago.
For their 2027 class, they may have their quarterback of the future in Frankfort (Ill.) Lincoln-Way East four-star commit Jonas Williams. On Friday night, Williams showed Trojan fans just what they could expect from him.
In a 42-6 win over Metea Valley, Williams set the Illinois state record for most career touchdowns at 128. Williams has been a starter since he was a freshman and transferred to Lincoln-Way East from Bolingbrook after his sophomore year.
In each of his previous three seasons, Williams has thrown for more than 2,700 yards with 33 ore more touchdowns each season. Last year he was at his best passing for 2,926 yards and 42 touchdowns.
Williams’ record-breaking night was just one of many highlights from Friday night. To the headlines ..
2027 top-15 running back David Gabriel Georges goes off in rivalry win
The battle between Tennessee’s top two programs lived up to the hype Friday night in Chattanooga as Baylor, the No. 20 team in the USA TODAY Super 25 football rankings, edged McCallie 38-35 in a rematch of the last two Division II-AAA title games.
A nip-and-tuck game from the get-go, what proved to be the difference was Baylor’s weapon at running back, 2027 top-15 recruit David Gabriel Georges.
Georges carried the load for the Red Raider offense with 25 carries for 280 yards and touchdown runs of 51, 53 and 60 yards. Louisville quarterback commitment Briggs Berry threw the game-winning touchdown to Kaiden Dewey with 1:02 remaining.
For his overall performance, the running back is one of the latest additions to the ALL-USA Football Team Watchlist.
Alabama impresses in front of top 2027 prospects
Already boasting a loaded 2026 recruiting class, Alabama has begun to look ahead to its 2027 class, with several potential prospects visiting Tuscaloosa on Saturday afternoon.
Prior to the game kicking off, Kalen DeBoer and the Crimson Tide landed a commitment from 2027 cornerback Nash Johnson out of Georgia.
Some notable visitors included 2027 five-star cornerback John Meredith III, four-star linebacker Noah Glover, and in-state four-star quarterback Trent Seaborn out of Thompson.
Farrell’s Juelz Johnson kept hitting the spin button
Steubenville (Ohio) may have gotten the final laugh, beating Farrell (Pa.) 40-24 Friday night. However, it was Steelers running back Juelz Johnson who made the play that everyone was talking about after the game was over.
Down late in the third quarter, Johnson took a direct snap and rolled left. He was immediately stopped, but broke away from that tackle. He went right, was hit once again, yet stayed up again. Johnson went back toward his left and streaked down the sideline.
He would go on to switch the field with a host of Steubenville defenders behind him, only able to watch in awe of his 54-yard touchdown run.
